The Blue Bell Inn on Cobbs Creek was built circa 1766 on the main stagecoach between Philadelphia and the southern colonies. It is next to the site of the first water powered grist mill built in 1645 in what would later become Pennsylvania.
The site is also was on the Great Minquas Path. The Friends of the Blue Bell Inc was chartered February 11, 1985 and received it's 501(c)(3) the following June
